Compared to other systems, MODX is incredibly secure with very few vulnerabilities over the years. Unfortunately, no system is 100% hack-proof. If you have MODX < 2.6.5 you're vulnerable to a pretty back hack. If that's happened I can help you get back up and running.

Things go best if you have a recent backup. It's not so much for MODX as a system as that can be updated just fine, but rather for your main website files. JS and some CSS files may be overwritten and without a backup may not be able to be restored. The only option without a backup is to use the Wayback Machine (http://archive.org/web/) to download the cached files. This is a separate manual process. That's why the extra charge for it.
